Jonathan Conricus is an Israeli former army officer and communicator who has spent much of his career explaining Israel to the world with clarity and professionalism. He served in the IDF for 24 years, rising to the rank of lieutenant colonel. From 2017 to 2021, he was the international spokesperson for the IDF, responsible for public diplomacy, media engagement and global outreach. In the wake of the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack, he returned to duty as a reservist and again took on international spokesperson duties for several months, conducting numerous interviews with major outlets around the world.
After leaving the military, Conricus became a senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies in Washington, DC, where he focuses on Middle East policy and strategic communication. He also leads his own strategic communications practice.
Conricus represents a quieter kind of courage. He has appeared on major news networks, spoken with foreign governments, briefed journalists and confronted misinformation directly. Many of these environments are openly hostile, yet he stays steady. He brings facts, context and a level of professionalism that stands out in a climate that is often chaotic and emotionally charged.
Rather than retreating from debate, he has shown that steady, respectful engagement can create space for truth and understanding even when the odds seem stacked against you.
