Israeli Innovation: Israeli TV industry

Despite Israel's small size, it has become one of the most successful television industries in the world.

In recent years, Hollywood has repeatedly turned to Israel as a source of ideas. Shows like In Treatment, Homeland, and Euphoria all began as Israeli series. Others, like Fauda and Shtisel, were watched globally in their original form.

Why are Israeli TV series so successful? What is the secret?

In Israel, writers and creators work with smaller budgets and tighter constraints. That forces them to focus on story, character, and ideas.

The result is original, human, and often more daring than mainstream television.

Part of this comes from Israeli culture itself, which is direct and not afraid to challenge ideas.

And of course, Israelis have a mix of conflict, religion, and military life to draw on. All of these aspects carry into their storytelling.

Hollywood is all about success. And right now, many of those successful ideas are coming from Israel.
