Israeli Innovation: Wiz

One of the most important challenges in modern technology is cybersecurity, an area that Israel excells in. As companies move their systems to the cloud, protecting data in that space is critical.

Wiz is an Israeli cybersecurity company founded in 2020. Its software scans cloud systems and quickly identifies security risks. Instead of requiring complex installation, the platform analyses systems across services such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud.

The company grew incredibly quickly. Major global organisations adopted the platform to protect their infrastructure.

This last week, in March 2026, Google acquired Wiz for around $US32 billion, the largest acquisition in Google’s history and the biggest exit ever for an Israeli technology company.

The deal highlights Israel’s reputation as one of the world’s leading centres for cybersecurity innovation.
