Inspiring Jew from Today: Manor Solomon
Widely considered one of the finest Israeli footballers of his generation, Manor Solomon has represented his country on some of football's biggest stages.
Born in Kfar Saba, Israel, in 1999, Manor Solomon dreamed of playing football at the highest level. His abilities and determination took him from the Israeli Premier League to major clubs across Europe, while also representing Israel on the international stage.
In 2023, Manor signed with English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur. He said he felt an immediate connection to the club because of its long history with the Jewish community and its many Jewish supporters. Hi first season was disrupted by injuries, but he went on to enjoy a successful year on loan at Leeds United, helping the club win promotion back to the Premier League.
In September 2025, Manor joined Spanish club Villarreal on loan. His time there lasted only four months, but he later described it as one of the most difficult periods of his career.
Manor received tens of thousands of hateful messages, including death threats and abuse directed at his wife. During a match against Sevilla, supporters insulted him and displayed a bloodstained Israeli flag as he warmed up.
Yet Manor went onto the field that night and scored the winning goal.
Manor Solomon refused to let hate stop him from being proud of who he is, or stop him from doing what he loves.
