Inspiring Jew from Today: Debra Messing

If you are of a certain age, you know Debra Messing as the beautiful and spunky Grace Adler from Will & Grace. The show ran for 8 seasons from 1998 to 2006.

Debra was one of the biggest TV stars in the world at the time. 

Her character, Grace was openly Jewish. And Debra herself has always been open about her own identity too.

Over the years, she has supported Jewish and Israeli causes, hosting events and backing organisations like Magen David Adom. 

Debra is a loud and proud Jew who, as times have gotten harder, has only become louder and prouder. 

She spoke at the March for Israel in Washington, in front of nearly 300,000 people. She also spoke at large rallies in New York calling for the release of hostages.

She regularly uses her platform to call out antisemitism. 

In an industry where many people choose to stay quiet, she has chosen not to. She has not stepped back. She has not wavered. 

Debra shows true courage as she continues to speak out so frequently and so clearly.
